Facilities at Ichingo River Lodge

  • Accommodation - The Lodge has recently undergone a refurbishment that now allows us to boast nine beautifully decorated Meru safari tents. Each tent imparts its own sense of luxury and all of them have their own private balcony overlooking the Chobe River as well as comfortable en-suite bathrooms. Each tent is positioned to ensure maximum privacy and to allow guests to relax in an environment that is truly distinctive.
  • in with the scenery, the relaxing lounge area, welcoming bar and separate open-air dining room all combine to provide maximum comfort from where to decide on your days activities.
  • Swimming pool and deck - An absolute must in the height of summer, the swimming pool is nestled on the edge of the Chobe River and allows you to relax in an environment that is truly distinctive.

Activities at Ichingo River Lodge

  • Excursions by Mokoro (dugout canoe) into the small islands in the Chobe River
  • Guided walks on the island are stimulating offering varied ecology.
  • Visit to the villages offer an insight into traditional African life
  • View the meeting place of the 4 countries from atop an ancient baobab tree
  • Game viewing by boat into the Chobe National Park is the ideal way to view huge herds of elephants as well as varied other species of game as they make their way down to drink at the river
  • Day trips with a picnic lunch in the bush can be arranged into the Chobe National Park where a picnic lunch in the bush
  • White water canoeing in the rapids is an exhilarating experience
  • Bird watching is a year round pleasure with over 400 recorded species and a combination of waterbirds tents and good dry land birds on the island.
  • Day trips to the Victoria Falls are popular as the road journey is only one and a half hours (at extra cost)
  • Fishing for Tigerfish and Bream in both the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers.
    There is access to over 100 kilometers of rivers in what is the premier Tiger fishing water in Africa. High quality tackle is available for guest use.
  • Here the Chobe is fast-flowing and studded with tiny islands.
    This is an excellent area for tiger and yellow-belly bream.
    ICHINGO specialises in light-tackle and fly-fishing and is particularly renowned for the quality of its guides.
  • Boats are open, five-metre outboard craft, or inflatable's - good for landing Tigerfish, especially when fly-fishing

    Full board (Breakfast, lunch & Dinner) –Lunch is service to guests on arrival day if they arrive at kasane immigration office by 13H00. Guests arriving after 13h00 will be served a snack on board.
    All house wine, beers, ciders, soft drinks, mineral water, tea & coffee
    Activities and excursions including guided game viewing by tender boat, guided fishing from a well equipped fishing boat, guided birding, a guided walk on Impalila island to see the ancient Baobab tree or a visit to a local village on the Namibia side of the chobe river (When available)
