Hotel Overview
One of the Victoria falls favorite hotels, the Zambezi Sun, was renamed in early 2016 as The Avani Vic Falls Resort. You get the same good value for money, great service and fantastic view of the Falls as you ever did!
This 4-star hotel, ideal for singles, couples and families, is a place that "captures the very soul of Africa": unpretentious, fun and welcoming.
The hotel, with its warm, earthy architecture, inspired by an African walled village, aims to turn your stay into a memorable experience. It is located right on the edge of the eastern cataract of the Victoria Falls which gives you free unlimited access to the Victoria Falls.
All 212 en-suite guestrooms are open and airy and decorated with a handcrafted fusion of Zambian designs, providing you with an atmosphere that’s bright, fun and welcoming. All rooms are air-conditioned, with satellite television, a minisafe, telephone, as well as tea and coffee-making facilities. There is also convenient access to ice machines and nearby vending machines, offering a variety of drinks and snacks.
All rooms spill outwards into the natural African bush or face inwards onto a large cool landscaped pool, which is an irresistible oasis on hot summer days. The 46-hectare grounds attract zebras, giraffes, impalas and monkeys. Enjoy a stroll around the gardens for a wild nature walk, go bird watching, investigate the herb and vegetable garden, or see the worm farm and compost project in action.
Private, shaded balconies are a perfect spot to catch up on some reading or enjoy a coffee while welcoming the early morning sun. All rooms have spacious bathrooms, offering the luxury of a separate bath and shower. The accommodation has been designed with singles, couples and families in mind, offering guests a perfect choice of holiday lodgings. Thirty nine rooms have queen-size beds and sleeper-couches, with the remaining 167 offering either two double beds, a queen-size bed or two separate single beds. There are also two rooms with paraplegic facilities. The four suites offer guests even more in terms of luxury and space.
Dinner and Dining, Restaurants and Bars:
Outside activities are centred around the spacious pool area. You're invited to submerge yourself in the cool, sparkling waters, sip colourful iced cocktails while planning your activity for the day (or relaxing from your last!). For the hungry, there is an ‘alfresco’ grill located alongside the entertainment area at the pool, for light, poolside lunches. /p>
As the African sun sinks behind the rolling hills it’s time to start preparing for a truly memorable night full of fun, romance and dancing to the sounds of live entertainment. Whether it’s a candlelit dinner for two with the promise of fine cuisine, a lively gathering of friends at the pool bar or the Friday night Boma evening, you will not be short of dining choices at The Avani Vic Falls.
The Theatre of Food
Located alongside the swimming pool, The Theatre of Food is a great spot to tuck into delicious breakfasts and international dinners. Tantalise your taste-buds with different cuisines on offer each night of the week whilst live music every evening adds some festive food fun for the entire family.

Boma Dinners
Every Friday evening, guests are invited to join in an important cultural tradition: a boma meal beneath open skies*. Sit back by the fire and enjoy a delicious Zambian feast, from barbecue meat to spiced delicacies, and a live band and traditional dancing. Make yourself cosy in the Mukuni Boma Village, directly overlooking Victoria Falls from the banks of the Zambezi River.
