Taken over by the Avani group, The zambezi sun was favourite for families and couples alike as great value for money mid range hotel close to the Victoria Falls. Simple finishes highlight bright mosaics and fabrics and the intoxicating environment is characterised by ethnic wall stencils, timber and plaster ceilings, Zambian artworks and accessories.

Thorntree River Lodge offers its guests a unique and personal African experience all year round. The Lodge blends naturally into the riverine vegetation and commands superb river views from its main deck and private verandas.
This lodge is situated along the banks of the Zambezi River, 25 km upstream of the Victoria Falls. This location is perfect for bird watchers as there are around 450 species of birds. The lodge offers river cruises and sundowners which are great oppertunities to view the inhabitants such as the crocodiles and hippos.
There are a selection of houses, thatched cottages and chalets, two of which are honeymoon suitable. The lodge aslo offers all the facilities one would want or need when planning a weeding or honeymoon. There lodge features a main lodge with a look out house nearby, facing the river. The lodge can accommodate up to 32 guests.
