Overview:
This lodge is a very romantic hideaway, situated in the banks of the Zambezi River. It was founded in 1990 by Ben Parker and Will Ruck-Keene who were both part of the eco-tourism in Zambia. The lodge is privately owned and run ensuring personal and attenrive service.
There are a selection of houses, thatched cottages and chalets, two of which are honeymoon suitable. The lodge aslo offers all the facilities one would want or need when planning a weeding or honeymoon. There lodge features a main lodge with a look out house nearby, facing the river. The lodge can accommodate up to 32 guests. The island can accommodate up to 10 guests. The river cottages and the houses near the main lodge all feature their own valet.
Accommodation:
Togabezi offers accommodation in houses and river cottages as well as in chalets on a private island which can accommodate up to 32 guests in total. There are 5 river cottages and 5 houses with a main lodge and a hide out in between. The 5 houses include a honeymoon house and are situated up stream from the other cottages and the main lodge. The private island consists of 5 chalets and another honeymoon chalet.
The River cottages each are all double rooms which can be converted into twin rooms. The rooms all have a mosquito net around the bed, an en-suite bathroom with a bath and a shower, indoor and outdoor areas as well as views of the river. Each room has a valet assigned to them.
The houses are made up of 4 open fronted houses and one enclosed cliff-top house, all with river views. There is also the Garden House that is perfect for families. It has two bedrooms, a living room and a private enclosure with views of a private garden and plunge pool. Each room has a valet assigned to them.
The chalets on the island are all open fronted. There are two double chalets and two twin chalets. They consist of flushing toilets and hot bucket showers. There is no electricity on this island. the rooms are lit with lamps at night. Each chalets has it's own wooden deck to view thw Zambezi River from.
