About The Wallow Lodge

Overlooking the Masuwe River, The Wallow Lodge offers an intimate safari getaway in the heart of a private concession within the Victoria Falls National Park.
The Wallow is made up of 16 rooms dotted along the edge of the Masuwe river. The luxury canvas tents hark back to the romance of the safari of yesteryear with each room perched on a private deck all with views of the bush.

The rooms offer an air-conditioner and twin fans, a private river-facing deck, a personal tea/coffee station, and a cosy lounge area. The rooms are hidden amongst a canopy of trees and boast an indoor and outdoor shower – adding to the sense of being enveloped by the wilderness.

The Wallow Lodge is a retreat to the simplicity and authenticity of safari life with a modern freshness about it. The camp’s set in 4,500 acres of wilderness and includes breathtaking views of the Batoka Gorge. The Masuwe river gently meanders across the wild landscape, before plummeting 140 meters into the cavernous lips of the Gorge.

Wearing the imprints of time and nature, this magnificent crack in the earth crust is a five-minute drive from camp and stretches across 17kms of untouched gorge frontage.
Guests will enjoy an inclusive game drive that ends with a scenic sundowner at this iconic location.

From the vantage point of the elevated rooms, panoramic views of the Masuwe River create a sense of space and freedom.

The bustling town of Victoria Falls is a short twenty-minute transfer from the lodge, giving guests the freedom to tailor-make their experience and find a balance between the exclusivity of the bush and the excitement of Africa's Adventure Capital.
Additional optional activities include nature walks, river safaris, elephant encounters and a tour of the local village. The Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust is located on the same property, offering guests the opportunity to learn about the rescue and rehabilitation programs for keystone species in the wilderness.

The Wallow Lodge meets the demands for an authentic and meaningful connection with nature that leaves behind a lighter footprint. In keeping with our conservation philosophy, the lodge operates partially off the grid and relies largely on a solar system for its power. The Wallow lodge is plastic bottle and straw free and our on on-site water purification system ensures that fresh water is readily available in glass bottles and eco-friendly dispensers. We consciously seek to eliminate the unnecessary use of energy and non-biodegradable material and all the decking of the lodge is constructed from environmentally friendly material that consists of recycled plastic and bamboo. This is a nature lover's paradise and embodies the authentic charm of the Victoria Falls National Park. The attention to detail strikes a perfect balance between contemporary, homely touches without detracting from the surrounding wilderness.
