Sable Sands Lodge is situated in a rosewood and teak forest in Dete Vlei near the outskirts of the Hwange National Park. The lodge features just 11 modern rondavels placed around the main lodge, each with their own private terrace and en-suite bathroom.
The grounds that the lodge is situated on used to be the hunting grounds of King Lobengula and are so spectacular that even Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip have payed them a visit.
The lodge features a dining area with a loung and a terrace with hammocks and bean bags for guests to relax, all overlooking the waterhole. There is also a swimming pool and a library to keep guests entertained.
This lodge welcomes children under the condition that parents take full responsibility for their kids as this environment is not suited to children due to the amount of wildlife.
Accommodation
Accommodation at Sable Sands is offered in one of the 11 thatched rondavels. The rondavels are beautifully decorated and have en-suite bathrooms. The rondavels are located near the lodge but far enough to provide guests with privacy.
